On Friday and Saturday, January 27th and 28th, the Zlatibor Innovation Business Center organized the third annual conference on the theme “Innovations in Tourism.” The conference brought together participants from Serbia and the region, including representatives of local tourist destinations, the tourism industry, marketing, and hospitality. Key topics discussed revolved around innovations in tourism offerings, focusing on planning, integrated services, and leveraging development potential. Participants also addressed the current trends in the digitization of cultural heritage, cultural and rural tourism, glamping, and innovations in gastronomy.
Our professor, Dr. Filip Đoković, spoke about Zlatibor as one of the hybrid destinations that combines elements of a spa, mountain, and urban center. He emphasized the importance of future-oriented planning in terms of urbanization, the destination’s carrying capacity, and providing the best possible offerings for the next 10 to 15 years to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Dr. Đoković noted that with modern information technologies and the higher education of young professionals, outdated models are being surpassed, and new potentials are being developed that will inevitably lead to success.
