Academic obligations
In order to successfully complete the program and earn 3 ECTS credits, students are required to fulfill the following academic requirements:
- Regular attendance of classes
- Active participation in workshops and discussions
- Completion of assigned tasks during the program
- Preparation and presentation of a project or essay, in accordance with the requirements of the specific course

- Participation in all lectures, workshops, and other teaching activities within the Summer School of Forensic Psychology program
- Teaching and working materials for following the program
- Certificate of successful completion of the Summer School of Forensic Psychology
- Coffee breaks during all teaching days

Program description:
The aim of the Summer School of Forensic Psychology is to provide participants with contemporary theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of psychological analysis of criminal behavior, court psychological expertise, and assessment of statement credibility, through an interdisciplinary approach connecting psychology, criminology, law, and penology.
The program focuses on understanding psychological factors of criminality, applying scientific methods in personality and violent behavior assessment, as well as developing competencies necessary for professional work in the judicial, security, and correctional systems.
Special emphasis is placed on the analysis of court practice, ethical standards of forensic work, and the application of modern research findings in risk assessment, personality disorder diagnostics, and evaluation of testimonies, especially in cases involving vulnerable groups such as children. Through case studies, court simulations, and analysis of real criminal cases, participants develop critical thinking skills, professional judgment, and interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of forensic psychology.
Learning outcomes:
Upon completion of the Summer School of Forensic Psychology, participants will be able to:
- Understand the basic concepts of forensic psychology
Become familiar with key areas of application of psychology in the judicial and security systems. - Recognize psychological factors of criminal and violent behavior
Understand how individual, social, and developmental factors may influence the emergence of criminal behavior. - Understand the basic principles of criminal profiling
Understand the logic and methodological steps of creating a preliminary psychological profile in criminal case analysis. - Understand the importance of personality disorders in forensic context
Recognize basic characteristics of personality disorders relevant for assessing criminal behavior. - Understand psychological aspects of testimony reliability
Become familiar with factors that may influence the credibility of testimony, especially in cases involving children. - Understand basic procedures of court psychological expertise
Understand the role of psychologists in court proceedings and basic elements of expert reports and opinions. - Understand the perspective of the judiciary in using psychological findings
Learn how judges and the legal system use psychological assessments in decision-making processes. - Gain insight into psychological processes in correctional institutions
Understand basic principles of psychologists' work in prison systems and the role of psychological interventions in rehabilitation. - Develop interdisciplinary thinking skills
Understand the importance of cooperation between psychology, law, criminology, and security sciences. - Critically analyze real forensic cases
Develop the ability to analyze and discuss real cases from judicial and criminal practice.
