Programme Overview

PPM (Programme of Education in Psychological, Pedagogical and Methodological Disciplines) is a structured professional education programme through which participants acquire knowledge and competencies in the fields of psychology, pedagogy and teaching methodology.

The programme is intended for individuals who, during their previous formal education, did not attend or pass the required disciplines and who wish to meet the legally prescribed requirements for employment in the education system of the Republic of Serbia.

The programme is fully aligned with applicable laws and by-laws, as well as with higher education standards and European teacher education practices.

Who Is the Programme Intended For

The PPM programme is intended for:

  • teachers, educators and professional associates in educational institutions,
  • future teachers, educators and professional associates planning to work in education,
  • individuals who wish to meet formal legal requirements for performing educational work.

The right to enrol in the programme is granted to individuals who:

  • have completed bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral academic studies,
  • have completed basic vocational, master vocational or specialist studies,
  • or are currently students of the above-mentioned types of studies,
  • provided that the studies were completed or are conducted at an accredited higher education institution in the Republic of Serbia or abroad.

Programme Outcomes

Upon completion of the PPM programme, participants acquire:

  • 30 ECTS credits in the field of psychological, pedagogical and methodological disciplines,
  • 6 ECTS credits of pedagogical practice, in accordance with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

The total number of effective teaching hours is 300.

The acquired ECTS credits and completed pedagogical practice constitute a legal requirement for performing educational work, in accordance with the Law on the Foundations of the Education System of the Republic of Serbia.

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants are issued a certificate of completion of the PPM programme, clearly stating the names of all subjects, the number of ECTS credits and the achieved results for each subject.

Subjects and Application

The programme is delivered by certified pedagogues, psychologists and teaching methodologists. The subjects included in the programme are:

  • General Pedagogy – 6 ECTS
  • Developmental Psychology – 6 ECTS
  • Didactics – 6 ECTS
  • Teaching Methodology – 6 ECTS
  • Educational Psychology – 6 ECTS
  • Pedagogical Practice – 6 ECTS
