During the third week of September 2025, Belgrade was the center of the European academic community in the field of education. More than 3,000 researchers gathered at the European Conference on Educational Research (ECER), considered the most significant event dedicated to educational policies and practices in Europe and beyond.
The host of this prestigious event was the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) in cooperation with the University of Belgrade, with the support of our Faculty, the Center for the Promotion of Science, and numerous partners.
ECER is held every year in a different European city, bringing together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers who exchange ideas, present research findings, and discuss key challenges in education. The conference is characterized by a rich program – from plenary lectures and symposia to workshops and posters – encouraging networking and cooperation within the international academic community.
The theme of this year’s gathering was Charting the Way Forward: Education, Research, Potentials and Perspectives. The focus was on research exploring how education can respond to contemporary challenges – from demographic changes and technological innovations (including artificial intelligence) to issues of individual well-being and the positioning of education in a broader social context.
At the Faculty of Organizational Studies "Eduka", more than 30 panels, lectures, and workshops were held, attracting over 500 participants from across Europe.
