Prof. Dr. Ivana Jošanov-Vrgović from the Faculty of Organizational Studies Eduka participated in the international conference "Rize Trade Economy, International Congress and Summit" and presented a paper titled "Leading Multiple Generations In the Workplace: Does One Leadership Style Fit All?".

Modern work environments consist of representatives of multiple generational cohorts that differ in their values, attitudes toward work, communication preferences, and expectations from leaders. The paper analyzes dominant leadership styles in the context of the characteristics of employees from different generations. A special focus is placed on the concept of situational leadership as a potentially most effective model in generationally diverse business environments. The conclusion of the paper is that a universal style does not exist in the context of multigenerational organizations and that future leaders should possess high emotional intelligence in order to successfully lead different generational cohorts. The author also offered practical implications for leader development and effective human resource management policies.
