At the invitation of the organizers of the prestigious international conference Path to a Knowledge Society – Managing Risks and Innovation (PaKSoM) 2025, professors from the Faculty of Organizational Studies "Eduka" – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dragana Mitrić-Aćimović, Prof. Dr. Jelena Đorđević Boljanović, and Dr. Ana Mirković – presented their research titled “Fear of Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace: A Response to Threatened Psychological Needs.”

In this highly relevant study, the authors explore the psychological aspects of digital transformation, shedding light on why employees experience fear and resistance toward artificial intelligence, and how threatened psychological needs – such as autonomy, competence, and belonging – shape their reactions to new technologies.

Through an interdisciplinary approach, the professors analyzed:

  • the sources and mechanisms of AI-related fear in modern organizations,
  • how feelings of uncertainty and loss of control affect the acceptance of innovation,
  • and strategies management can apply to build a balance between technological advancement and employees’ psychological well-being.

The study’s key contribution lies in the message that successful implementation of artificial intelligence is not merely a technical issue – it is a psychological and organizational process that requires careful cultivation of a culture of trust, communication, and employee support.

By participating in the PaKSoM 2025 conference, the professors of the Faculty of Organizational Studies "Eduka" once again confirmed the faculty’s international reputation and research relevance, contributing to the global discussion on the ethical, psychological, and managerial aspects of implementing artificial intelligence in the business environment.
