At the Faculty of Organizational Studies "Eduka", an exceptionally professional lecture was held by our professor Dr. Mikloš Biro, entitled “Psychological Aspects of Ethnic Conflict and Reconciliation”. The lecture gathered a large number of students, lecturers, and professionals from practice.
The event took place on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 12 PM, on the Faculty premises, and the topic attracted significant interest due to its relevance and social importance.
The lecture opened with an overview of key theories explaining the causes and dynamics of ethnic conflicts, with a reference to political, cultural, and historical factors. Dr. Biro then shifted the focus to psychological processes shaping intergroup relations, emphasizing the role of perception, stereotypes, emotions, and group identities in the escalation and prevention of conflicts.
The central part of the lecture was dedicated to the psychological foundations of reconciliation. The professor presented contemporary research showing how trust between conflicting groups can be restored, as well as the factors contributing to the stabilization of relations in post-conflict societies.
Special emphasis was placed on studies related to the post-Yugoslav region, which gave the lecture additional local and practical relevance.
The lecture encouraged a dynamic discussion on the challenges and possibilities of building sustainable peace, opening space for the exchange of experiences and professional insights among students and practitioners in the fields of psychology, sociology, political science, business, and economics.
The Faculty of Organizational Studies "Eduka" expresses its gratitude to our professor Dr. Mikloš Biro for his inspiring and informative lecture, as well as to everyone who actively participated, highlighting the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in understanding conflict and promoting reconciliation processes.
