Guest Lecture by Prof. Dr. Darko Hinić at FOS "Eduka"

At the Faculty of Organizational Studies "Eduka" in Belgrade, a guest lecture titled “How Our Mind Shapes Social Reality” was held yesterday, delivered by Prof. Dr. Darko Hinić. The lecture was organized as part of the “Social Psychology” course and was attended by students and faculty staff.

Prof. Dr. Darko Hinić is a full professor and head of the Psychology study program in Kragujevac. During the lecture, he explained how the human mind processes social information and how these processes influence everyday behavior.

Special attention was given to the difference between automatic thinking and situations in which we exert greater mental effort in reasoning. Professor Hinić explained how cognitive schemas function, how we use implicit theories of personality, and why some people behave as “cognitive misers.”

The lecture also addressed how knowledge from the field of social cognition can be misused in modern society — for example, in marketing, where it is applied to encourage certain patterns of consumer behavior, as well as in political communication, where it can influence how citizens form attitudes and make decisions.

The lecture generated significant interest among students, who, through discussion, had the opportunity to further deepen their understanding of the psychological mechanisms that shape social perception and behavior.
