FOS Eduka at the International MDPI Webinar on Sustainable Tourism and Green Hospitality
FOS Eduka has continued to affirm its active role in contemporary scientific developments through its participation in the prestigious international webinar “Green Hospitality and Human–Environmental Relations: Toward Sustainable Food Systems and Responsible Tourism,” held on March 13, 2026, and organized by the publishing house MDPI. The very title and thematic framework of the event clearly indicate that it was an exceptionally relevant scientific gathering, focused on one of the most important contemporary research fields—the intersection of sustainability, hospitality, food systems, and human–environment relations.
The significance of this event is further highlighted by the fact that the webinar was opened by Prof. Dr. Tamara Gajić, affiliated with FOS Eduka and the Institute of Geography of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, while presentations were delivered by Prof. Dr. Sonja Veljović from the Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism in Vrnjačka Banja and Prof. Dr. Filip Đoković from FOS Eduka. In this way, FOS Eduka was both visibly and substantively well represented within an international scientific platform that brings together researchers and the academic community interested in sustainable development, tourism, and modern hospitality.
The webinar focused on topics that hold a central place in both science and practice today: the green transformation of hospitality, responsible tourism models, sustainable food systems, as well as the broader context of contemporary social and economic changes. This interdisciplinary approach confirms that sustainability is no longer an isolated topic, but one of the key developmental and research pillars of the modern academic landscape.
The participation of our professors in such a well-profiled international event represents a confirmation of the scientific relevance and research credibility of FOS Eduka, particularly in the fields of sustainable tourism, hospitality, management, and socially responsible development models. At the same time, it demonstrates that the Faculty continuously builds partnerships with respected international actors in scientific publishing and academic communication.
For FOS Eduka, this webinar is part of a broader continuity of scientific activities aimed at internationalization, strengthening research visibility, and actively contributing to contemporary academic debates. It is particularly important to emphasize that MDPI is a significant partner of FOS Eduka in the field of scientific publishing, further reinforcing the Faculty’s institutional presence on the international scientific scene.
At a time when issues of sustainability, responsible consumption, green business models, and the transformation of tourism are gaining increasing importance, events like this confirm that FOS Eduka not only follows contemporary trends but actively participates in shaping them through scientific work. Therefore, the participation of our professors in the MDPI webinar represents yet another important confirmation that FOS Eduka is developing a scientific profile that is internationally relevant, socially responsible, and strategically oriented toward the topics of the future.
