The Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka” continues to provide students and the wider interested public with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of contemporary psychological approaches and challenges in working with children through meetings with distinguished experts. In this spirit, on April 21 at 1 PM, a guest lecture and workshop titled “When Play Speaks: The Power of Storytelling in Play Therapy and Preparing a Child for Deeper Psychological Work” will be held, led by Nikolina Milosavljević, a graduate psychologist and certified psychotherapist, trained in RE&CBT psychotherapy, play therapy, and the EMDR approach, with a special focus on working with children and adolescents, as well as a certified parent educator through the programs “Positive Discipline” and “Good Enough Parent”.

The topic of the lecture raises an extremely important professional question – how to understand a child when words are not enough and when their inner world is most clearly expressed through play, symbolism, and storytelling. Through a combination of theoretical insights and practical experience, participants will have the opportunity to explore how play therapy and narrative approaches become a valuable path toward a deeper understanding of a child’s emotions, needs, and inner experiences, as well as an important introduction to a serious and sensitively guided psychological process.

The special value of this workshop lies in its practical orientation. Participants will gain insight into the ways in which storytelling, picture books, and symbolic play open space for contact with a child’s inner world, become familiar with specific techniques and tools for working with children, and develop professional sensitivity for recognizing those forms of children’s expression that remain unspoken, yet have key importance for understanding the child and planning further work.

This event is primarily intended for psychology students, but it is also open to the wider interested public – all those who wish to expand their knowledge of contemporary approaches to working with children and deepen their understanding of the complex, rich, and often subtle world of children’s emotions and experiences.

The visit of Nikolina Milosavljević represents another significant contribution to the efforts of the Faculty of Organizational Studies “Eduka” to provide students, through high-quality professional content, relevant topics, and meetings with experienced practitioners, with an education that connects modern theoretical knowledge, professional practice, and an authentic understanding of human nature.
