Panel Discussion: The Healing Relationship – Science or Art?
The Faculty of Organizational Studies invites you to a panel discussion on the topic "The Healing Relationship: Science or Art? Integrative Psychotherapy of Dr. Richard Erskine", which will take place at the faculty on April 20 at 2:00 PM.
The panel will feature Bogdan Marković, psychotherapist, director and founder of the Institute for Relational-Integrative Psychotherapy of Serbia, and Darja Pačevski, psychotherapist and co-director of the Institute for Relational-Integrative Psychotherapy of Serbia (IRIPS).
The discussion will be moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dragana Mitrić-Aćimović, lecturer at FOS "Eduka" and a psychotherapist under supervision engaged at the psychological counseling center "Mensana" in Novi Sad.
Discussion topics
- What makes the psychotherapeutic relationship healing?
- How do we recognize and respond to the relational needs of our clients?
- Is attunement in psychotherapy a skill we learn, or does it develop through the experience of authentic human connection?
The panelists will rely on their clinical experience, as well as knowledge gained through direct learning from Dr. Richard Erskine and other international supervisors in the field of integrative psychotherapy.
Two significant books by Dr. Erskine will also be presented:
- Early Affective Confusion: Relational Psychotherapy in the Treatment of Borderline Clients
- Withdrawal, Silence and Loneliness: Psychotherapy of the Schizoid Process
These works provide deep insight into the ways in which the psychotherapeutic relationship can become a space for understanding, contact, and change. To further support understanding of the therapeutic paradigm behind them, the panel will introduce some of the key concepts of relationally oriented, developmentally based integrative psychotherapy – an approach that views the therapeutic relationship as the central path to psychological healing.
