
An open lecture titled "How Safe Are We?" was held at the premises of the Faculty of Organizational Studies "Eduka," drawing significant interest from students and the wider public. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Miroslav Đurić, an expert from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, providing an overview of current security challenges in Serbia and the region.
The speaker emphasized that modern security challenges are rapidly evolving, with a particular focus on cybercrime, terrorism, and organized crime. He highlighted that the digital transformation of society brings numerous benefits but also new threats, especially in terms of data misuse and online fraud.
A key trend discussed was the growing need for cooperation among regional countries to effectively combat transnational crime. The lecturer stressed the importance of timely action, education, and strengthening the capacities of security services.
Special attention was given to the role of citizens in maintaining safety through responsible behavior and reporting suspicious activities. Questions and comments from the audience enriched the discussion further, underscoring the importance of continuous education on this topic.
The lecture concluded with a call to young professionals to engage in addressing modern security challenges, emphasizing the need for innovation and an interdisciplinary approach. The Faculty announced the continuation of the lecture series on security, featuring prominent experts from Serbia and abroad.
The event was attended by undergraduate and specialist students from the Security and Corporate Security programs, as well as interested individuals from the security sector.
