A fourth-year psychology student at the Faculty of Organizational Studies "Eduka," Nebojša Ratković, has received the prestigious opportunity to participate as a speaker at the World Literacy Summit 2025, which will take place in Oxford, United Kingdom, from April 6 to 9, 2025.
The World Literacy Summit is the largest global event dedicated to literacy, featuring leaders from non-governmental organizations, researchers, academics, professors, entrepreneurs, publishers, and government representatives from around the world. Nebojša's presentation aims to share experiences and innovative approaches to enhancing educational projects through contemporary literacy concepts.
From a psychological perspective, literacy is the foundation for the development of critical thinking, identity formation, social connection, and a key factor in an individual’s cognitive and emotional development. Low literacy can significantly affect feelings of competence and self-confidence, which directly shape psychological well-being and quality of life. Understanding and applying new knowledge and skills enable individuals to successfully adapt to changes and actively participate in the community. For this reason, promoting literacy from a psychological standpoint is not only an educational necessity but also a social responsibility.
The invitation to speak at such an event is a significant recognition of Nebojša's previous work and contribution to education, as well as a confirmation that knowledge in the field of psychology is invaluable in shaping contemporary educational approaches. His participation in the summit further highlights the importance of integrating psychological knowledge in promoting literacy and empowering individuals in society.
We congratulate our colleague Nebojša on this outstanding achievement and wish him much success at the prestigious conference in Oxford!
